John Banker is director of traditional research and a partner at CTC Consulting. Mr. Banker joined CTC in 2005 as a senior research analyst, and has brought tremendous expertise to CTC. Mr. Banker is responsible for overseeing the firm’s research and recommendations of traditional investment managers. He is also a member of CTC’s investment committee responsible for qualitative and quantitative analyses on current and future investment managers.

Prior to joining CTC, Mr. Banker was a senior analyst at Kobren Insight Management, an investment firm with more than $1 billion in assets under management in mutual funds, a hedge fund of funds and structured bonds. He was also editor of Kobren’s FundsNet Insight, a highly acclaimed investment report for individual investors. Before Kobren, he worked on numerous investment publications, serving as both a writer and editor.

Mr. Banker lives with his wife and two children in Portland and enjoys running, basketball, reading and music.

He received a BA in english literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1989, an MA in journalism from Marquette University in 1992 and an MS in finance from Boston College in 2000.
