Kristi Hanson is president, director of research and a managing partner at CTC Consulting. Ms. Hanson joined CTC in August 1998. As president and a member of the executive committee, Ms. Hanson manages all aspects of CTC’s business. As director of research, she supervises the research of traditional, hedge fund and private markets investment managers, as well as investment strategy. She oversees sourcing and researching managers, evaluating strategies and managers for inclusion in client portfolios, and monitoring the managers with whom clients have investments. In addition, Ms. Hanson is the co-portfoilo manager on several fund of hedge fund portfolios.
Ms. Hanson began her career in 1991, specializing in hedge fund research for the investment industry. Prior to joining CTC, Ms. Hanson was the director of research at Genesee Investments, a Bellevue, Washington based fund of funds. At Genesee, Ms. Hanson was responsible for research and portfolio recommendations for six fund of fund strategies spanning all hedge fund asset classes. Prior to Genesee, Ms. Hanson provided audit and consulting services to financial services companies at KPMG.
Ms. Hanson lives in Portland with her daughter and two sons. An avid runner, Ms. Hanson has competed in five marathons. She enjoys gardening, Pilates and traveling.
Ms. Hanson is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Society of Portland. She received a BS in business with majors in accounting and corporate finance from the University of Idaho.
