WILLIAM F. MONAGHAN, CAIA

Bill Monaghan joined CTC in 2010 as a senior consultant and partner. His primary responsibilities are to oversee and manage client relationships. Mr. Monaghan is directly involved in the development and implementation of long-term investment policies, analysis of client portfolios, recommendations of appropriate portfolio allocations and the evaluation and selection of investment managers. Mr. Monaghan is located in CTC’s Boston office.
Mr. Monaghan joins CTC with over thirteen years of experience in the investment management industry. Most recently, Mr. Monaghan was founder and chief investment officer of Pinyon Peak Capital Management LLC, an actively managed diversified fund of hedge funds. Previously, Mr. Monaghan was chief investment officer for Fernwood Advisors, an investment management firm based in Boston. At Fernwood, Mr. Monaghan was responsible for setting investment policy, strategic asset allocation, manager research, portfolio implementation, performance monitoring and reporting. Prior to Fernwood, he was with Whitney & Co. working with alternative investment products, and he was also previously a partner and co-founder of Private Capital Partners LLC. Prior to Private Capital, he spent two years with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in their private client division.
Mr. Monaghan holds a BA in economics from Trinity College and a MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and currently serves on the executive committee for the Boston CAIA Chapter.
