CTC was originally founded in 1981 as Capital Trust Company in Portland, Oregon. CTC’s founder, Ralph C. Rittenour, Jr., formed a consulting division within this company that matured into CTC Consulting. CTC is headquartered in Portland and in the past ten years has expanded its footprint to include offices in New Hampshire, Connecticut and Massachusetts. The philosophies on which CTC was founded are still in place today.

Following a management buyout on April 1, 2008 from Bank of America, CTC Consulting is majority owned by its employees.
